Due to continued rapid growth and expansion within our HSE department we are now on the hunt for a Senior Injury Management & HSET Advisor to join the team.
The Role:
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of programs relating to Workers’ Compensation, Injury Management, Return to Work
- Ensure that HSET standards and directives are up to date and actively followed in the workplaces.
- Interact and meet with Key Leaders and stakeholders in the region ensuring that HSET activities align with the needs of the business
- Introduce programs, inspections and activities that Risk Assess work activities and introduce controls where possible that are Elimination, Substitution or Engineering based
- Work related and non-work related Injury Management and workers compensation issues to the
- Manage a portfolio of psychological and physical injury cases to ensure early, safe and durable return to work.
- Coordinate receipt of new injury notifications from all states and ensure timely communication with injured parties and key stakeholders (client management, brokers, doctors)
- Working collaboratively with all internal stakeholders to achieve desired RTW outcomes.
- Track, control cost in injury claims and prepare reports.
- Actively participate in claim reviews with agent, brokers and internal stakeholders on a regular basis
- Ensuring compliance with all States Legislation and the Self Insurance requirements.
- Provide prompt rehabilitation and return to work support for all work related and as identified non-work-related injuries
- Attending initial doctors’ consultations with injured workers at local clinic – Perth
- Assist in sourcing the identification of suitable or pre-injury employment;
- Monitor the progress of an injured employee’s recovery and potential to RTW.
- Monitor the injured employee’s performance and compliance against the current RTWP to ensure appropriateness and adjust as necessary within the confines of the current medical restrictions.
- File & submit all paperwork to the insurers across all states
- Liaise with payroll – keep informed for salary adjustments
- Record keeping of all costs / invoices for workers comp and non-compensable cases
- Actively develop, improve and promote Injury Management and Return to Work processes across the Group
About you:
- Current Drivers Licence
- Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
- Diploma of Work Health and Safety (Preferred)
- ICAM Lead Investigator Training
- Cert IV Business (Leadership) (Preferred)
- Cert IV Training and Assessing TAE40116 (Preferred)
- Formal Certification in Auditing (Preferred)
- Capable of completing site travel (at least 1 week a month)
- Previous experience in a similar role; working in a high-risk safety environment, e.g. mining, resources, engineering, construction or manufacturing sectors;
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of current legislative requirements and the ability to effectively apply these in the workplace.
- Proven ability to drive cultural change and capability across the region.
