The Role
An opportunity has become available for two Environmental Health Officers to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia
You will
- Develop, implement and evaluate Environmental Health projects and quality improvement
- Monitor, investigate, enforce and promote compliance with public health legislation
- Provide accurate and timely advice and support to managers and other public health practitioners
- Be required to travel across Gold Coast Health Service facilities and occasional community home visits
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Possession of a tertiary degree (or equivalent) from a recognised tertiary institution that is accredited by Environmental Health Australia or deemed eligible for appointment by the Queensland Health Environmental Health Officer Appointments Review Committee
- Driver Licence
- Evidence of vaccination and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Temporary full time (two positions, up to 30/06/2024 with the possibility of extension)
- Base salary ranging from $2 941.70 - $4 323.80 per fortnight

The Gold Coast Public Health Unit sits within the Nursing, Midwifery and Patient Experience Division in Gold Coast Health. The Public Health Unit's aim is to protect and promote the health of the community by addressing Environmental Health hazards, communicable and vaccine preventable diseases.
