Environmental Health Officer - Senior

Metro South Public Health Unit are looking for a Senior Environmental Health Officer to join their team. The purpose of this role is to deliver Environmental Health services within the Metro South Hospital and Health area to promote and protect public health within the context of public health legislation, policies and standards.

About the Role

• Manage an allocated workload by demonstrating high level of time management skills in prioritising workload demands to deliver Environmental Health services in accordance with established protocols, policies and procedures.
• Provide professional support to, and mentor, less experienced staff and operate as a reference point within the Environmental Health team and broader public health unit to assist and respond to every-day work demands.
• Apply increasingly independent judgement to complex decision making in Environmental Health with only occasional HP5 supervision.
• Assist in the identification, development, implementation, and review of Environmental Health practices, procedures and protocols.
