As the successful applicant, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and healthy environment for the community and will contribute to the implementation of the Community Health & Wellbeing Plan. Working in areas as diverse as food safety management, water quality, environmental management, disaster and emergency management and health promotion planning and delivery. Every day will bring new experiences and challenges. You will build relationships with individuals, businesses, community and external agencies.

Selection Criteria
- Bachelor of Science (Environmental Health) or equivalent as approved by the Chief Health Officer - Department of Health.
- Previous experience in Environmental Health within local government (desirable).
- Developed written and verbal communication skills including interpersonal skills, report writing, consultation, correspondence, negotiation and meeting participation skills with the ability to relate to all sections of the community.
- Well-developed skills in the operation of Microsoft Office 365.
- Proven performance delivery in an Environmental Health context demonstrating an ability to meet set goals and targets.
- Authorised person and inspector under the Environmental Protection Act 1986 Sections 87 & 88.
- Experience in health promotion (desirable).
Hours of Work
This is a full-time permanent position working Monday to Friday, 75 hours per fortnight, with an option for a fortnightly or monthly rostered day off.
About the Benefits
The salary range for this position is $86,042 - $92,536 per annum (depending on experience and skill level) plus superannuation. Other inclusions are free parking, annual increments, EBA salary increases, a generous superannuation co-contribution scheme, 22 days annual leave which attracts 17.5% loading, Corporate Health Membership, free access to online learning, discounted membership at City owned facilities. We have flexible work arrangements or the option for a rostered day off fortnightly or monthly and support working from home arrangements (subject to approval).
