The Environmental Earth Sciences Queensland team is growing and are looking for a self-starter who wants a diverse and fulfilling career in contaminated land management.
We are a business committed to developing the next generation of environmental leaders. We offer an intern position to students looking to get their foot in the door of the industry. We will familiarise you with an office-based position two days per week during semester. You can work more during the holidays and less during exam periods. Initially, we will start you off easy on taking meeting minutes, picking up orders and looking after our samples. All these skills are critical to our team operations and feed into our project delivery. In time, as you build your confidence, you can develop your skills in project admin such as data entry and project set up.
From the intern position, we offer a graduate program which will start with preliminary site investigations and landfill monitoring projects, you will get the opportunity to be involved in projects through the whole project lifecycle. This includes business development, proposal writing, field work, laboratory and data management, reporting all the way to client management. We are a team-based business so you will be backed up with hands-on support from our senior staff ranging from scientists, engineers, and contaminated land auditors.
We have great office-based initiatives including Friday afternoon seminar sessions (FASS), junior office exchange, end of trip facilities, annual team events, training on our on-site groundwater bore, office dog etc.
Our intern role is a mix of admin, team support, project support work which allows for some field days and gain exposure to our grad program. This has been a successful program as you will be trained by one of our previous interns who is now part of our grad program.
We are passionate environmental practitioners, and you will see that the environment is our first client. We welcome new ideas and appreciate someone who wants to make a difference.
