Our client is currently seeking a passionate Environmental Project Officer to contribute to their mission through innovative projects and initiatives.As an Environmental Project Officer based in Fremantle, you will play a key role in planning, implementing, and monitoring Environmental Projects aimed at promoting sustainability and conservation efforts in the region. This 8-month contract position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to environmental protection and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the planning and implementation of a biofuels trial on a Port vessel, as well as stationary and mobile plant
- Manage a review of light vehicle fleet to identify opportunities to transition to low emission or electric vehicles
- Manage electricity and fuel efficiency audits
- Research and provide advice on carbon emissions offset strategies
- Provide support to the electrical branch in the planning and delivery of photovoltaic (PV) projects
- Manage the collection and reporting of net zero program and project data
- Manage internal and external stakeholder engagement to ensure that requirements, goals, project scopes and deliverables are valid, well understood and agreed
- Monitor and report on project budgets and reporting schedules
- Appropriate qualifications or experience in project management (highly desirable)
- Experience in the preparation of business cases and/or project justifications (highly desirable)
- Experience working with business stakeholders within a multidisciplinary/cross-functional environment
- Ability to multi-task, in the context of delivering a diverse program of works/projects
- Ability to conduct research on project related issues
