We are currently seeking a dedicated Environmental Monitoring Technician to join our skilled team. This role is instrumental in managing and optimising our extensive fleet of scientific instrumentation.
Job Responsibilities:
- Execute all required environmental monitoring activities.
- Source, build, monitor, and maintain a fleet of environmental monitoring equipment for noise, dust, vibration, gas, geotechnical, and water monitoring.
- Conduct routine calibration and maintenance of monitoring equipment.
- Manage documentation related to monitoring activities.
- Maintain high standards in managing ENVSS environmental data systems.
- Collaborate with other departments to support additional environmental projects, including environmental sampling and the revision of proposals/reports.
- Adhere to company values and actively participate in training and developmental activities.
Candidate Profile:
- Demonstrated attention to detail with a methodical and cautious approach to technical tasks.
- Experience in environmental monitoring or a related field.
- Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, remotely, and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Comfortable working in various environmental conditions and occasional travel.
- Proven ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues.
- Commitment to improving operational systems and processes.
- Strong safety orientation with skills in hazard identification and risk control.
- A driving license is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A minimum of two years’ fieldwork experience, ideally in environmental monitoring.
- Background in Environmental Science/Engineering or an Electronics technician, though other relevant technical qualifications will be considered.
- Additional assets include an MR truck license, experience with coding (Python, AWS), basic mechanical and electrical/electronics aptitude, and the ability to read and interpret technical diagrams.
