Job Description
Permanent full time position of the Equipment Coordinator for Orthopaedic/Spine is the operational management of the theatre complex in collaboration with Neuro and Ortho Nurse Unit Managers, to ensure availability of instruments and delivery of service.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Provide support to clinical staff to manage instrument and equipment requirements through the day including fast tracking and locating trays.
- Communicating with company reps RE loan and consignment kits, bookings, and lost/broken consignment instruments.
- Assisting in consigning and de-consigning kits.
- Maintenance of consignment tray checklists with reps.
- Look ahead to ensure equipment and instrumentation needs for procedures are met.
- Maintenance and building upon consignment inventory.
- Assisting getting Orthopaedic and spinal trays online as part of instrument tracking.
- Sourcing quotes for, and ordering instruments.
You will work closely with the NUM's and CSSD managers to review instrumentation requirements for the department ensuring they are cost effective and utilised appropriately. Acting as a resource person to ALL nursing staff and managers in the periop department. Liaising with the education team to ensure support and education for the nursing team. You will also be involved in project development to improve delivery of our service.
You will have:
- Relevant experience in ortho / neuro a must
- Current unrestricted AHPRA Nursing registration
- Set Monday-Friday roster. No on call, weekends, evenings, public holidays
- Registered nurse; grading negotiable/ based on experience.

The annual salary range for full time Registered Nurses – AUD $66,711 - $93,669 + super + entitlements depending on registration type, year level and position (prorated for part-time).
