Key Responsibilities:
- Provide timely and accurate advice to managers and employees on a variety of employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary actions, grievances, and disputes.
- Conduct investigations into workplace complaints and grievances, ensuring procedural fairness and adherence to relevant policies and legislation.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote positive employee relations and enhance workplace culture.
- Collaborate with HR business partners and other stakeholders to develop and implement policies, procedures, and programs that support employee engagement and well-being.
- Represent the organisation in meetings and negotiations with union representatives, fostering constructive relationships and achieving mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Keep abreast of legislative changes and industry best practices in employee relations, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to employee relations activities and outcomes.
Requirements:
- Degree qualification in Human Resources Management, Employment Relations, Law, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience working as an Employee Relations Consultant or in a similar role, preferably within a local government or public sector environment.
- Sound knowledge of employment law, industrial relations frameworks, and relevant legislation.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
