The Role

Reporting to the ESG Manager, the Sustainability Analyst will oversee the collecting, analyzing, and reporting on G’Day Groups sustainability performance, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of sustainability data to support the identification of trends, risks and opportunities.

Success in this role will help G’Day Group differentiate through our robust sustainability reporting and performance and contribute to the group achieving ESG objectives and goals.

A key function of this role will be coordinating the compilation of the sustainability reports in accordance with standards required through recognised reporting frameworks such as ISSB / AASB Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (Climate and ESG), SASB, GHG Protocol, GRESB Real Estate and GRI.

Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Research and undertake ESG data gathering and analysis of sustainability aspects material to Discovery Holiday Park’s operations
  • Ensure compliance with relevant data reporting legislation and obligations (e.g. Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards)
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to develop a continuous improvement framework for ESG data reporting, with initial focus on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions
  • Maintain quality documentation for GHG inventory and data collection and emission calculations
  • Provide advice and guidance to internal ESG data owners on data handling, storage, evaluation and documentation
  • Strengthen internal quality assurance / quality controls relating to ESG emissions data collection
  • Oversee external ESG data assurance contracts and coordinate internal implementation of assurance recommendations to improve data governance
  • Regularly review and update GHG emission factors and assumptions and performing scenario analysis to assess sensitivity of different variables on emission data, allowing the business a more comprehensive understanding of risks and opportunities
  • Provide in-house training and capability building in data handling, management, storage, evaluation and QA/QC, as required

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as science, engineering, economics or business, a qualification in sustainability, environmental management or a related topic is not essential but highly desirable
  • Strong research and critical reasoning skills to review data, complex and interrelated information, global standards and leading practice
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and activities concurrently to designated specifications and timeframes
  • Proactive, well organised and disciplined. Able to operate independently, set priorities and follow-through on them
  • Ability to liaise and communicate across multi-disciplinary teams
  • High attention to detail, strong and effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, including Executive and Board-level reporting
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI & other key reporting platforms
  • Sound knowledge of accounting & financial principles with reference to GHG emissions reporting
  • Can-do attitude, continuous improvement mindset and a passion for impact
