Estimating / Project Engineer

We are currently seeking a Structural or Geotechnical Estimating/Project Engineer with experience with piles, piled foundations & shoring systems to join our busy project team. The bulk of our work is in infrastructure, the ideal candidate will be an experienced estimating /Project Engineer with exposure in structural and civil design.

Working with the Senior Management the role will include:

• undertake initial assessments of tender documents.
• Undertake preliminary pile designs for costing purposes.
• prepare accurate tenders and quotations for review.
• review supplier/subcontractor quotes.
• follow up on submitted tenders and quotations.
• maintain and update construction files (online & hard copy).
• monitoring project progress.
• identify value engineering/cost saving areas.
• attend site/client meetings as required.
• liaise with clients, sub-contractors and site supervisors.
• develop relationships with our clients.
• produce Auto Cad drawings as required.

The successful candidate will have the following:

• Have completed a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (structural or geotechnical).
• Previous experience in piling design. (minimum 2 years?)
• Ability to read, understand and interpret drawings and plans.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently and within deadlines.
• Knowledge of the MS Office suite, AutoCAD (Word, Excel and Outlook) a must ideally be able to utilise design software including (or similar to) Wallap and piglet.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a small team environment.
• Attention to detail.
• Valid Australian driver’s license.

Additional training (where required) will be provided to the successful candidate.
