Job Summary:
As an Experienced Estimator, you will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, preparing competitive bids, and supporting the overall project management process. Your primary focus will be on estimating projects within the ASP1, ASP2, Civil, and Transport sectors, ensuring that all estimates are comprehensive, realistic, and aligned with client requirements and industry standards.
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator with strong industry knowledge and established connections within Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building positive relationships with these providers to secure major projects for our company. Winning projects will be the primary focus of this role, requiring a proactive and strategic approach to estimating and tendering. Key Responsibilities:
- Project Estimation: Conduct detailed analysis of project plans, specifications, and scope of work to develop accurate cost estimates for ASP1, ASP2, Civil, and RMS projects.
- Cost Analysis: Analyze and evaluate project expenses, labor, materials, subcontractor quotes, equipment, and other relevant factors to determine project costs.
- Bid Preparation: Prepare comprehensive and competitive bids, ensuring compliance with project requirements, regulations, and standards.
- Documentation: Maintain organized and detailed records of project estimates, including all supporting documentation, calculations, and assumptions made during the estimating process.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and ensure accurate estimates.
- Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for value engineering, cost savings, and alternative construction methods without compromising quality or safety.
- Risk Assessment: Identify and assess potential risks and uncertainties associated with project estimates, providing recommendations for risk mitigation strategies.
- Industry Knowledge: Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to ASP1, ASP2, Civil, and Transport fields, and apply this knowledge to the estimating process.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience working as an Estimator within the ASP1, ASP2, Civil, and Transport sectors.
- Minimum 3 years working in the electricity supply industry
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex project plans and specifications accurately.
- Proven ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Thorough understanding of supply authority network standards, AS3000 and compliance requirements including safety, quality, and environmental management procedures.
