AddressMelco Engineering Pty Ltd is currently recruiting for an Estimator/Planner to join our dedicated Bowen-based team.

Melco Engineering is a heavy fabrication business headquartered in Mackay, with operations in Paget and Bowen. We have large scale facilities and fabricate a range of products, including many large scale products. We have an established SMP business, providing works for asset owners, Tier 1 contractors, and major design houses in the mining, ports, sugar, and industrial sectors on fabrication, fabrication and install or site works bases. We are seeking to grow our capability and business in SMP services.
You will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with an established workforce of tradesmen and apprentices, in a business with growth settings.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead role in the winning and productive execution of works – all things from estimating through job execution – site and workshop works.
- Work to Melco’s established operational management systems, including estimating, project/job management, and cost control processes.
- Receival, review, compiling, and submission of tenders, RFQ’s.
- Project ownership of awarded works through to and inclusive of project close-out.
- Active role in the growth of Melco’s SMP business, through developing existing and new customer relationships.
- Ensure Melco maintains a safe workplace and meets all safety and compliance standards.
- Supervising trade employees, sub-contractors, and apprentices
Skills and Qualifications:
Essential
- Engineering or trades qualifications
- 5 years of proven project management and estimating experience
- Strong mechanical and structural aptitude
- Commercial contracts knowledge and interpretation
- Professional communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
- High level of computer competence, including MS Office suite, and MS project.
Desirable
- Post-trade engineering or similar qualifications.
