About the role
This is a permanent, full-time, Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm position working 35 hours per week. This position is located at the Nowra Administration Building.
DutiesReporting directly to the Business & Events Coordinator, the focus of this position is to:
- Receive and interpret complex and competing advice in relation to events, demonstrate a high level of initiative and analysis to manage the permit process for events held on no council owned and managed land.
- Use intuition to manage, elevate and mitigate risks for council (including reputation), as events hold a high degree of community interest, impact, and political sensitivity.
- Participate in policy creation and improvement.
- Exhibit positive behaviors by showing initiative, taking responsibility for own actions and referring issues of ethics and probity.
- Negotiate and make decisions regarding community events.
- Demonstrate a high level of communication, both written and verbal
- Work across all directorates of Council to engage and enable events in our region with direct responsibility to discuss, negotiate and collaborate for positive event outcomes.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:
- TAFE certificate in Administration or equivalent and two years relevant work experience.
- TAFE certificate in Event Planning or equivalent and three years relevant work experience.
- Class C Driver’s License.
- Proof of Australian residency or citizenship, or authority to work in Australia (visa)
