FIND PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL GROWTH

Council has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Excavator Operator where you will be responsible for assisting in the coordination of the on-site, day to day, resource requirements for sub crews in order to ensure efficient project and programme delivery. You will be responsible for skillfully operating specialised equipment, coordinating the timely supply of resources and liaising with the public and others about works progress.

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Operating large and small excavators on Council's civil works projects e.g. road construction, drainage construction and preparation for concrete works
  • Providing assistance to the Works Ganger in undertaking day to day coordination of plant, labour and material resources for Council's civil works projects
  • Operating other civil works plant and / or trucks as operational needs require
  • Obtaining and responding to client and public requests for information and assistance with works matters

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

You have an exceptional work ethic with a strong focus on safety and working efficiently. You have a good understanding of Council's civil works and are able to competently dig trenches, load trucks and shape earthworks as required. You are an experienced large plant operator, with a demonstrated high level of communication skills. Additionally, you will have practical civil construction experience. You are a team player who continually looks for positive ways to contribute to team culture.

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • Appropriate work related (civil assets) experience
  • Class HR to HC Drivers Licence and plant operator competence in skidsteer/loader/excavator operation including mechanical aptitude
  • General administrative skills demonstrating a competent level of literacy, numeracy and basic computer skills
  • Good customer service and verbal communication skills

Attractive annual salary ranging from $63,587 to $73,897 is on offer.
