We have a fantastic opportunity within our Construction & Maintenance team! The City is looking for a community-minded individual to be our next Excavator Operator Engineering Construction.
In this position you will provide exceptional customer service when dealing with internal and external customers and a willingness to make a difference in improving the quality of life for our community. You will perform a variety of plant operations and general duties associated with the construction of earthworks, roads, drainage and in the maintenance of various engineering and parks assets.
Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to;
- Carry out all Backhoe/Excavator Operator works as requested on Construction and Maintenance works.
- Carry out a variety of civil engineering tasks, as requested by Engineering Construction Supervisors, associated with the general construction and maintenance of roads, drains, footpaths and other Engineering Assets.
- Operate and maintain all associated plant in accordance with Council Policy and Procedures.
- Comply with relevant Occupational Safety and Health legislation and complete all work in a safe and efficient manner, having regard to own safety, the public and that of other workers.
About you
The successful candidate will have the following:
- HR Driver License
- Safety Awareness Training Certificate (White Card)
- A satisfactory National Police Certificate is required.
- Experience in drainage construction including the operation of associated machinery (e.g. Excavator / Backhoe / Trucks)
- Ability to interpret drainage plans and laser levelling set up and pipe laying.
- Developed oral and written literacy and numeracy and Technology skills
- High level of communication skills to deal with internal and external customers and a willingness to make a difference to improve the quality of life for our community

The salary for this position will be from $70,873 to $71,698 per annum, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
