About Us:

The Healing Foundation is a national Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisation dedicated to amplifying the voices of Stolen Generations survivors and their families. We create safe spaces for survivors to lead their healing journey, promoting trauma-aware practices and addressing intergenerational trauma caused by colonisation. Governed by a First Nations Board and Executive and guided by our work by our Stolen Generations and Youth Reference Groups, our work honours ancestors and empowers future generations to thrive.

Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Executive Assistant to provide administrative support to our CEO. The ideal candidate will be able to handle a wide range of administrative and executive support-related tasks, while working independently with little or no supervision. The Executive Assistant will be responsible for managing the CEO's schedule, coordinating travel arrangements, preparing reports and presentations, and handling confidential information.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the CEO's calendar and schedule appointments
  • Coordinate travel arrangements, including flights, hotels, and ground transportation
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other documents as needed
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Conduct research and gather information as needed
  • Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails and phone calls
  • Attend meetings and take minutes as needed
  • Assist with special projects and events as needed
  • Manage expenses and prepare expense reports
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically

Highly Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience in a similar role in an Aboriginal and/ or Torres Strait islander organisation.

  • Valid Working with vulnerable people check.
