Job description
The Mackay Hospital and Health Service (Mackay HHS) is a high-performing Hospital and Health Service (HHS) focused on future sustainability and building the best regional hospital and health service in Queensland. The HHS services approximately 182,000 people in an area of around 90,000km2 through its six hospitals, two Multi-Purpose Health Services and four community health services and employs more than 3500 staff. The Mackay Base Hospital is the referral hospital for smaller facilities at Bowen, Dysart, Clermont, Collinsville, Moranbah and Sarina.
The organisation is now seeking to appoint a Executive Director Nursing and Midwifery, reporting directly to the Mackay Hospital and Health Service Chief Executive, providing professional leadership for the Nursing and Midwifery Workforce across MHHS. This will include the interpretation of government policy into Nursing and Midwifery practice consistently across the organisation and provide professional leadership for Nursing and Midwifery staff across MHHS.
The position holder is the lead Executive for Clinical Governance, Quality and Safety across the organisation. Importantly, it also includes developing and implementing quality and safety systems and processes through a dispersed clinical leadership model across the HHS, specialty services and clinical networks.
As an Executive, the position holder contributes effectively to the broad strategic agenda for the organisation. That agenda will encompass the delivery of safe and equitable health services and be a partner in delivering a wide range of services to the population of Mackay and its surrounding areas with the intrinsic intention of improving the health of the people it serves.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate:
#Leadership experience in health service delivery in a diverse and complex environment
# Works collaboratively with leadership groups and healthcare team
# The ability to lead innovation and contemporary models of practice
# Appropriate tertiary qualifications
