- Developing and leading a high performing team, through clear and consistent communication, strong performance and behavioural standards, delegating responsibility whilst guiding and developing people.
- Providing mentoring, coaching and staff development.
- Driving productive outcomes and facilitate conversations with Senior Executives.
- Preparing high-quality written material, including briefings for Ministers and the senior executive, minutes and reports ranging in complexity and often to short deadlines.
- Using critical thinking and judgement to identify and engage appropriate resources to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and financial delegations.
- Directing and overseeing the implementation of key projects, including project and contract management and quality assurance activities.
- Representing the Department of Health and Aged Care at meetings/workshops to influence and manage the successful delivery of initiatives.
- Utilising data (including for example, workforce, service gaps, client characteristics or financial data) to monitor trends, evaluate impact and to design policy and programs.
- Establishing and maintaining productive working relationships with internal and external clients, service providers and stakeholders.
- Working in partnership with stakeholders to develop and implement new policies and programs.
- Promoting a positive, safe, inclusive, and diverse culture in the department.
