NeuroStudio and Momentum are seeking an Exercise Physiologist with a passion for making a difference in the lives of people with complex movement challenges. In your role you will provide assessment, management and exercise prescription for a range of neurological, chronic disease management and musculoskeletal conditions.
The role is available to Full-Time or Part-Time applicants alike.
Momentum, Neurospace and NeuroStudio have joined to create an integrated, client focussed service in the Canberra Region. It offers an exciting, dynamic and supportive environment to work with people across the age spectrum in a growing organisation. There is a strong base of Neurological clients such as those with Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinsons Disease, Cerebral Palsy, Spinal Cord Injury and Traumatic Brain Injury. We are entering the next phase of implementation where we will start to develop a more comprehensive approach to chronic disease management. Mentoring and support is given throughout training and skill development. There is considerable autonomy and capacity for development of individual interests.
The role will include:
- Working with people from the disability and ageing sectors
- Working independently providing quality, holistic assessments and treatment
- Working creatively to enhance exisiting and develop new programs, including in new space and in the community
- Providing support and supervision of junior therapists with the support of the Studio Senior
- Working collaboratively with Physiotherapists, Prothertist/Orthotists and Allied Health Assistants
- In clinic, community and home based sessions
Essential Criteria
- ESSA Accreditation
- Professional Indemnity Insurance
- Current First Aid and CPR qualification
- Current drivers licence
The following experience will be considered highly regarded:
- experience working with neurological conditions, the elderly and people with physical/mental disabilities
- Clinical Pilates, MS GHS and LSVT qualifications
- Experience writing NDIS, Medicare, DVA and NSW Work Cover reports
Work hours can be negotiated, with a minimum of 4 days preferred. Above award pay rates and conditions in accordance with the "Health Professionals and Support Services Award".
