The PositionExercise Physiologists of varying experience levels and Exercise Scientists are encouraged to apply for the position. Physiotas offers a mentorship program, and chances for career advancement. The assistance given will be tailored to address individual needs.
Your primary role will be to support patients in both one on one appointments as well as group exercise classes. Some areas of focus are diabetes, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, strength and conditioning.
You will be surrounded by a varied team of allied health professionals, with a broad range of interests and specialities means you can develop your own areas of interest and find your own niche in this team.
To be eligible for this role you must have the following.
- You will need professional registration with ESSA.
- Strong knowledge of exercise physiology, anatomy, biomechanics, and exercise prescription principles.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
- Ability to conduct thorough assessments, interpret results, and develop evidence-based exercise programs.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals of all ages, fitness levels, and medical conditions.
- Proficiency in using exercise testing equipment, fitness assessment tools, and exercise prescription software.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
Physiotas have been providing healthcare services in their local community for over 25 years and they now have seven clinics across the north of Tasmania. The practice supports local hospitals, workplaces, aged care facilities and private health funds.
Physiotas have a large but supportive team of physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists, myotherapists and remedial massage therapists who work together to make sure each staff member achieves their full potential and provides the best possible care for their patients.
Physiotas takes great pride in their extensive new graduate program, which includes weekly professional development sessions with senior clinicians so at the end of the two-year program, graduates at Physiotas have accelerated their knowledge in the private practice setting.
