Little Steps Early Learning Epping is a purpose-built centre, licensed for up to 57 children a day over four rooms for children six weeks to 6 years.
We operate Monday to Friday (7am - 6pm), we are close on public holidays and have a short break over Christmas for 2 weeks.
About the role:
We are looking for an experienced cook/chef to join our team.
Candidate who holds Certificate III in Early Childhood Education is desirable.
As our cook/chef you will be required to prepare and cook daily meals (morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea) for children aged 6 wks to 6yrs.
In doing this, you will meet all the individual food requirements of specific children where required, including puree for babies, allergies, dietary and religious requirements.
During meal preparation, you will adhere to the nutrition, food and beverage policy guidelines of the service and work per the food safety regulations for safe and clean handling of food products.
You will be responsible for ordering and maintaining food and supplies, including breakfast and late snack provisions within a reasonable kitchen budget.
Our menus are planned seasonally on a four-week rotation in consultation with families and the Munch and Move program. You are required to cook according to menu.
In addition, if you have experience with, or a willingness to learn, we would love you to be involved in driving the centre towards sustainable practices such as growing produce, composting or worm farms.
This is a permanent part-time role, Monday to Friday, working 6 hours a day. (8am - 2pm)
If you holds Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and would like to work full time, you can work in the room after 2pm until 4.30pm.
