Requisition ID: REQ483638An exciting opportunity exists for a permanent part-time experienced Administration Clinical Support Officer interested in working as part of a small team providing a high standard of administrative and Clinical Support to our clinical care teams within Southcare, Aged and Extended Community Care. If you are passionate about supporting our elderly and our dedicated clinical staff, then this is the job for you.Where you'll be workingYou'll be working for Southcare, Aged and Extended Community Care which is based at The Sutherland Hospital. Southcare hosts a large number of clinical teams that work in the community to support people to live independently at home. This role will directly assist our clinical teams as well as assisting other teams as required to achieve our goals of providing excellent care for our community. You will assist and provide administrative support to our Nurses, Medical and Allied Health staff. You will work closely with a team of administration staff to facilitate the effective coordination and execution of all clinical teams within Southcare.

  • The CSO may provide support across the facility or to more than one service.
  • The CSO is required to work closely with existing administrative staff.
  • The CSO role compliments existing roles, systems and processes within the organisation.
  • The CSO is expected to provide timely and accurate administrative / transactional services for members of the healthcare team on their designated ward(s)/ unit(s) under the direction of the NM/ NUM/ MUM/ CNC.
  • The CSO works under broad supervision, however is required to take some independent action. Scope exists for exercising initiative in the application of established work practices and procedures. Decisions affecting the overall functioning and management of the ward/unit/ service remain the responsibility of the NM/ NUM/ MUM/ CNC.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.All workers and new recruits are required to receive 2 doses of a Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine to commence employment/ engagement or continue to work within a NSW Health service.A worker and new recruit will be considered compliant if they have a medical contraindication to all available Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccines and provide medical contraindication evidence in line with the policy requirements.In addition, all Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant.Category A workers and new recruits who are non-compliant with seasonal influenza vaccination or have a medical contraindication to influenza or COVID-19 vaccinations must comply with all other infection control risk reduction strategies as directed while working in a Category A position.SESLHD is committed to creating a workplace that reflects the diversity of our community.   • Holds or is willing to undertake a Certificate III in Health Administration or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills including accurate spelling, good comprehension, confidence in the spoken word and ability to deal confidently and courteously with people at all levels.
  • Capacity to work under broad supervision and to undertake a diverse range of tasks as an effective member of a team in high pressure, high volume work environment.
  • Computer literacy with demonstrated experience in word processing, data entry, spreadsheet and database software.
  • Strong organisational and problem solving skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
