The opportunity
We are currently seeking an Experienced Engineer with durability and remedial engineering experience to join the Materials Technology team in Melbourne. You will work on a variety of projects ranging from medium-scale projects to large multi-disciplinary projects.
With a minimum of 4+ years’ experience in infrastructure engineering, you will play a key role to:
- Develop the group’s corrosion engineering capability
- Provide durability engineering services to the functional groups within NSW as well as support interstate and overseas projects
- Support the group’s existing capability in asset management, condition assessment and remediation of existing structures
- Provide durability engineering services to external clients in areas such as corrosion assessment, cathodic protection design and monitoring, material selection and specification of repair options
- Develop durability plans and reports for new infrastructure projects.
- Develop client base and support the team in winning more work in the area of cathodic protection design and monitoring
- Prepare EOI and proposal submissions.
- Be part of multidisciplinary teams to deliver durability services to clients
- Train and mentor less experienced team members.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil/Materials/Structural Engineering
- 4+ years’ commercial experience and knowledge of delivering material engineering
- Experience in the co-ordination, design and delivery of projects within multi-disciplinary engineering environment
- Familiar with relevant Australian Road Standards
- Demonstrated ability to provide durability assessment and design for new infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated ability to lead condition assessments and remedial strategy for existing structures, including the ability to interface with the relevant disciplines in developing remedial strategies
- Strong understanding of construction materials, concrete, steel, timber and coatings
- Strong technical expertise in durability modelling and service life forecasting
- Demonstrated ability to develop materials specifications and to provide sound materials selection advice
