The role
The role of the Radiology Nurse is dynamic and evolving as the emphasis on minimally invasive procedures increases. Our team is growing, and we are seeking:
- EN or RN based in our Northeast Region, including Modbury, Salisbury, North Adelaide (0.6-1FTE)
- EN or RN based in our Southern Region, including Morphett Vale, Noarlunga and less frequently, Ashford (0.6-1FTE)
Our Nurses work within a multidisciplinary team providing a wide variety of diagnostic and interventional services to a diverse patient clientele.
Activities within this role include:
- Assisting Radiologists with interventional procedures such as Deep Organ Biopsies, Lumbar Punctures, PICC insertions, Drainages & Pain Management Injections.
- Providing high-level care and education for patients pre, during and post interventions, including medication management.
- Collaborating with medical imaging technical staff to support workflow and enhance the patient experience.
- Liaising with hospital departments and allied health personnels
- IV cannulation and accessing PICC/Port devices.
- Identifying stock requirements and assisting with ordering as required
- Maintaining emergency trolleys, medication, oxygen and other required general nursing duties.
- Triaging and responding to medical emergencies such as anaphylaxis and vasovagal episodes.
- Coordinating specialist sessions within the clinics which may include Breast Care, Sedation lists and MRI Pacemaker.
- Processing patient bookings and supporting patients and referrers who require more complex interventional procedures.
What are we looking for?
You will have demonstrated nursing experience, preferably in an acute or theatre/recovery setting, with strong interpersonal and time management skills as well as the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to adapt to the changing needs of the clinic.
These roles will suit a candidate who thrives on pace, variety, people and developing their professional branding. Ability to cannulate and previous experience in radiology will be highly regarded, though not essential as full training will be provided.
