About Adelaide Day Surgery

Adelaide Day Surgery is a free-standing Day Surgery, which provides operating room facilities for Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Plastics, Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgery, Paediatric Dental and Maxillofacial Surgery.

We are seeking an experience Clinical Nurse - Anaesthetics; this is a permanent part time position and hours to be negotiated with the successful candidate. Full time hours will be considered.

We are looking for vibrant, engaging, dedicated and highly motivated nurses with a strong clinical background. You will pride yourself in delivering excellent service and have a keen attention to detail.

This position will give leadership and direction to the nursing team and report directly to the Clinical Manager and CEO/Director of Nursing. Hands-on clinical involvement is a key component of this position with a focus on quality and review integrated within the responsibilities.

Duties of a Clinical Nurse will substantially include, but are not limited to:

 Providing support, direction, orientation and education to Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses in the Theatre areas. Facilitate and mentor in conjunction with the Management Team the Graduate Nurse Program.

  • Being responsible for planning and coordinating services relating to Anaesthetics at Adelaide Day Surgery.
  • Acting as a role model in the provision of care to patients.
  • Other selected duties as allocated by the CEO/Director of Nursing or Clinical Manager.
  • At times review, create and update policies, work instructions and participate in the audit process.

Qualifications & Requirements:

 Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.

  1. Demonstrated leadership and management ability including the capacity to initiate and support change within a team framework.
  2. A minimum of 3 years post registration experience in Anaesthetic Nursing.
  3. Graduate Diploma in Anaesthetics and/or working towards completing the course is desirable
  4. Knowledge of:
  5. National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
  6. Occupational Health and Safety legislation
  7. Quality Improvement processes
  8. Well-developed organisational and decision-making skills.
  9. Experience in developing, implementing and evaluating nursing policies and procedures.
  10. Skilled in written and verbal communications.
  11. Intermediate computer skills.
  12. Current Working with Children Check.
