About the Role
Due to our rapid growth, we are looking for a vibrant and motivated team of individuals to join our journey in raising the standard of care provided to people living with a disability.
This role will be supporting a participant in his early teens living with level 3 Autism, behaviours of concern, and anxiety. He is also non-verbal, profoundly deaf, and is prone to having seizures.
The Support Worker will need to assist with personal care, implementing behaviour support Plans, managing challenging behaviours, medication assistance, community & social engagement, meal preparation, and domestic assistance.
The client loves swimming at Raging Waters, basketball, and playing with remote control cars and video games. The role would be best suited to someone who has had extensive experience working with kids and is willing to engage in fun activities with the participant. The ideal candidate will also be bubbly and outgoing in nature.
About You
- Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting youth with complex needs and behaviours of concern.
- Tertiary Qualification relevant to Youth Work or Disability.
- Knowledge of Behaviour support plans and Restrictive Practices.
- Medication Certificate or willingness to obtain.
- Seizure management training or willingness to obtain.
- Experience with hearing impaired and non verbal clients (Auslan training highly desirable)
- Working with Children's Check.
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate.
- Driver’s License & own car with comprehensive insurance.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Flexible availability & commitment to an ongoing roster of support.
- Must be willing to swim.
