ABOUT THE POSITION.
In this role, you will provide care and mentorship to children and young people aged 12-17 residing in one of our 24/7 care facilities. These young individuals have faced challenging backgrounds, including experiences of trauma, abuse, neglect, and may also grapple with mental health, physical, or psychosocial disabilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting with daily routines, personal care, meal preparation, household chores, recreational activities, homework support, and guidance.
- Administering medications.
- Safely transporting young people to and from school, day programs, and appointments.
- Facilitating and overseeing contact visits, promoting family involvement.
- Maintaining meticulous records and documentation of your work.
Essential Requirements:
- Current Working with Children Check.
- NDIS Worker Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate
- National Police Check within the last 12 months.
- Current driver’s license.
- Comprehensive car insurance.
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
- Certificate III/IV/Diploma in Community Services.
- TCI or PART training (Preferred)
- Be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
- Have experience in handling challenging behaviour.
- Demonstrate flexibility in working various shifts, including days, nights, sleepovers, and weekends.
