UGL?s Utilities Operations & Maintenance business is a trusted provider of services to owners of assets across power, water, and gas sectors. Building on our strong reputation and long-standing contracts in power distribution, transmission, and water operations and maintenance, we are poised for significant growth.

As we prepare for this exciting new phase, we?re launching a new Utilities Operations and Maintenance business in Western Australia.  We are seeking Expressions of Interest for multiple key roles to establish our business in Perth giving you the opportunity to be part of the journey as we bolster our capacity to deliver operations and maintenance services within the utilities sector.

The Role: Expression of Interest ? HR/Recruitment Advisor

This position is responsible for ensuring the P&C team delivers activities for our OM Utilities projects within the West.  This includes partnering with our operations and project team on resourcing needs for our projects, onboarding, performance development of our team members whilst ensuring the UGL policies and procedures are adhered to.  Other key focus areas will include but are not limited to:

  • Consult with leaders to understand role needs, develop position descriptions, and evaluate roles.
  • Actively manage resourcing and onboarding for West project: end to end recruitment and onboarding.
  • Manage departures (including conducting and reporting on exit interviews) and guide managers through difficult terminations to ensure the business complies with legislation and best practice.
  • Advise Managers and stakeholders on the management of non-performance (e.g. policy interpretation, coaching, etc) and develop leadership capability to enable effective performance management practices.
  • Provide advice and support on the project specific Enterprise Agreements and correct application.
  • Actively participate in the broader HR team.

About You

The ideal team member is someone who is open and flexible, able to navigate and work with a variety of stakeholders and manage relationships really well.  A friendly and reliable team member that will help grow our People and Culture team capabilities and support the OM Utilities divisions to succeed.

  • Tertiary HRM Qualifications, or equivalent years of experience. 
  • At least 3+ years? experience as a HR practitioner, operating at an Advisory level or similar.
  • Solid negotiation, influence and change management skills
  • Solid working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines including remuneration and benefits, employee relations, performance management, recruitment and selection, training and development, talent management, organisational development and change management;
