About the Role
Baptcare are seeking Expression of Interest from compassionate individuals who want to gain practical skills and experience as Personal Care Assistants and develop a career in the Aged Care sector. Baptcare partners with reputable industry leading training organisations, delivering high-quality aged care education, to provide you a unique career opportunity to earn money while completing the nationally accredited Certificate III in Individual Support (CHC33021).
As part of your traineeship, Baptcare supports you by providing a supportive team for you to gain practical experience under the expert guidance of our training partners.
This traineeship can be completed through our Victorian Residential Aged Care division at many of our sites across Victoria, including Warragul, Drouin, Westmeadows, Norlane, Camberwell, Morwell, Kew, Kerang, Frankston South, Macleod, Doncaster, Footscray, Werribee, and Lalor.

Key Duties
You’ll assist our Residents live their best possible life, supporting them to live independently, with dignity and self-determination. You’ll assist them with everyday activities and;
- Commit to providing consumer centred care of the highest standards.
- Creating a welcoming, supportive & professional care experience.
- Maintain accurate documentation of consumer outcomes.
- Recognise changes in a consumer’s health status and report appropriately.
- Respond to changing needs of consumers.
- Assistance with Personal Care & domestic duties.
- Hoisting & manual handling assistance.
- Adhere to all the relevant workplace safety laws & regulations.
- Support consumers to continue to do the things they love & enjoy and deliver life-transforming care and support.

About You
If you are a compassionate, positive person and a natural caregiver wanting to make a difference to people's lives, if you are seeking a career change, a recent school leaver looking to kickstart your career, Baptcare’s Personal Care Assistant Traineeship could be right for you. No experience or qualifications required.
To be considered, you will need the following:
- Be kind, empathetic, caring in nature.
- Life experience as a Carer is desirable, but not essential.
- Have a ‘can-do’ attitude and commitment to learn.
- Have a desire to help older people in your community live their best lives.
- Be interested in pursuing a career in aged care.
- MUST be either an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident or New Zealand citizen.
- MUST NOT already hold a qualification in Individual Support/Aged Care or higher nursing qualification.
- MUST be over 18 years of age.
- Be willing to undergo a National Criminal History Check, Reference Check & Health Assessment.
- Be committed, reliable and able to complete the traineeship within 8 months.
- Have access to a computer & internet.
- Able to work part time and commence at 7am for the morning shift and 3pm for the afternoon shift.
