About Us

Kempsey Shire Council is located on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales and is known for its genuine hospitality, pristine beaches, sub-tropical rainforests, mountain ranges, rock river gorges, sprawling farmland and peaceful villages.

Council employ people in traditional local government positions such as Town Planning Officers and Health and Building Officers, Environmental Officers, Regulation Inspectors, Rangers, Water & Sewerage Services, Engineers, Surveyors, Roads Construction and Maintenance, Waste Services, Open Spaces and Facilities (Parks & Gardens), Records Officers and Librarians. In addition, we employ people with a full range of business skill sets, across areas including IT, Finance, Customer Service, Human Resources and Public Relations.

The Opportunity

Council has approximately 280 employees in a variety of full time, part time, Temporary and contract positions to deliver services to the community. Sometimes we require staff for casual, Temporary and Project Work in a range of different work areas.   

Do you have skills and experience to join us in making a difference in our community, want to gain additional skills or provide mentoring to younger or less experienced employees in areas of skill that are in demand nationally.
