Consideration and preferences will be given to candidates with previous stores/warehouse experience in ANY trade/metalwork/commercial manufacturing enterprise.
A clean and well-organised parts store is central to the facilitation of good business. To successfully fulfil this role, you will require forklift experience and be required to;
- Organise and maintain inventory by properly storing parts, labelling shelves, and conducting routine stock checks and ensure a well-presented, clean, and safe working environment
- Process customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring the availability of parts and accessories.
- Assist customers in identifying and selecting the appropriate trailer parts and accessories, providing expert advice and recommendations.
- Receive and inspect incoming vehicle parts and accessories to ensure quality and accuracy
- Prepare and package parts for dispatch/shipment, ensuring proper packaging and labelling to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, sales, and purchases using computerised systems or manual logs
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment by following proper handling and storage procedures for hazardous materials.
Candidates with previous sales experience in ANY trade, metalwork, or commercial manufacturing enterprise will be given consideration and preference.
The sales team is service-oriented and customer-centric. To successfully fulfill this role, you will be required to;
- Answer customers’ questions about products, prices, availability, and product features,
- Locate, determine availability and obtain customer parts as requested by phone or in person,
- Suggest and encourage the sale of related parts for full service,
- Determine sales price for customers for each sale in accordance with company procedure,
- Utilise non-selling, non-servicing time by studying catalogues, reviewing price sheets, bulletins, changes, additions, and deletions,
- Process warranties and refunds for customers in accordance with company procedure,
- Process, special-order parts, approved credits for customers when necessary and appropriate,
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
This is a generalist role and primarily assists in the stores, stock management and incoming and outgoing freight with meaningful career development for the right candidate.
- Some assembly of manufactured parts, such as wheel hubs for stock replenishment and stock management
- Delivery driver as required
- Forklift (LF) duties as required
- Interacting with workshop team members, sales team members, and customers in person or via phone
- Unpacking and checking inventory upon arriving on-site
- Collecting, packing and dispatching inventory
- Tracking and recording inventory in our computer system
- Stock management, including stacking shelves and keeping the nearby bulk warehouse well presented clean, organised and safe
Ideally, the successful candidate will:
Essential
- Be physically fit, with strong manual handling skills
- Be mechanically minded with good mechanical aptitude
- Be passionate about being organised, cleanliness, safety and attention to detail
- Be practical, motivated self-starter who can work independently, and work unsupervised with support from fellow workers
- Have a manual-car driver's license.
- Have proven Excellent Time management
- Have demonstrated a Service orientation that is actively looking for ways to help people.
AND at least 3 of the following is highly desirable;
- Forklift ticket (LF)
- Experience as a storeperson / salesperson
- Experience with trailer/car-part picking knowledge
- Experience in the Metal trade
- Confident with phone and good communication skills
- Confident with computers
Martin’s Trailer Parts is a family-owned company founded in 1972. It is a stable employer with over 40 team members. The team designs, manufactures and assembles a large proportion of their equipment in their own workshops, from 200kg box trailers to 20-tonne agricultural equipment, that is exported directly and indirectly worldwide.
