Bellaire Primary School is located in the suburb of Highton in Geelong and students are drawn from both Highton and surrounding areas. There are 27 classes with 32 full time and 8 part time teaches and 6 support staff. The school has experienced a steady enrolment over the past few years and currently has 605 students. Bellaire Primary School is a leading school in the innovation of education with an ¿Aim High¿ approach. The development of learning spaces to facilitate personalised learning, engagement of students and the creation of learning communities has been a major focus. The use of ICT enhances student learning and brings connectedness to the real world. This is inclusive of a One to the World program in seniors, where students provide their own Apple device for virtual learning. The school has Prep, Junior, Middle and Senior Learning Units where teachers work in teams to best meet the specific needs of students. The school has two curriculum coaches who work in the classrooms with teachers to further improve the quality of teaching. In 2019, the school will undergo school review and set a new Strategic Plan. A whole school learning strategy will be developed to support all teachers in implementing the new strategic goals based on improved engagement and learning. Our ¿Aim High¿ motto involves implementing teaching practises that actively engages students in their learning through goal setting and reflection linked to assessment and planning for precision teaching. The school hosts educators from across Victoria and interstate, to assist them in the development of teaching practise. Improvement is driven through each learning community working in professional learning teams on agreed action research. This work is done in conjunction with and supported by the team coach.

The school has a responsive leadership team and an experienced, professional staff who have high expectations of themselves and students. All teachers participate in coaching to improve their current teaching practises, with the aim of improving student learning. The school also nurtures a culture of `innovation¿ by persistently developing our approaches to curriculum delivery to reflect 21st century learning. A range of ICT hardware and software plays an integral part in the teaching and learning program. All home group teachers plan and teach in an open collaborative environment and participate in action research and reflective practises.
The staff is caring and respectful of students¿ needs and committed to the development of positive relationships with all children. The school is an active member of a network of preschool, primary and secondary schools thereby enhancing our transition program. Students have a wide choice of secondary education on graduation from Bellaire Primary School.
The school enjoys the strong and active support of School Council with parents participating in School Council Sub Committee structures, curriculum and classroom programs.
With the support of school council, Bellaire PS has developed physical spaces to reflect learning communities. The school has developed flexible learning spaces for Prep, Junior, Middle and Senior Learning Communities.
Bellaire Primary School is situated on three hectares of land and provides an attractive landscaped environment and dynamic play areas. Features of the physical environment include:
