The opportunity:
A key member of the leadership team at Ammeraal, the Fabrication Manager will oversee all fabrication activities at our workshop and ensure the seamless installation of products at client sites throughout Victoria. You'll lead and develop a team of 4-5 fabricators, implementing effective workflow management processes to manage stock levels, maintain quality control, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Your responsibilities:
- Manage and mentor the fabrication team to ensure efficient production and superior craftsmanship.
- Supervise day-to-day fabrication activities, ensuring safety compliance, productivity, and adherence to project timelines.
- Oversee stock management, including storage, handling, re-orders, and stock updates in the IT system.
- Ensure safe and efficient product installations at customer sites, scheduling installations to meet deadlines.
- Develop production plans, monitor productivity, and provide accurate reports on activities versus targets.
- Develop and maintain operating procedures, formalise technical training, and ensure training records are up to date.
- Collaborate with the leadership team on scheduling orders and improving business efficiency and quality.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
- Post-secondary qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent; or a Recognised Australian Trade Qualification.
- Qualifications/training in Frontline Supervision/Management and continuous improvement techniques (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) are highly regarded.
- Management/supervisory experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Experience in fabrication/manufacturing works in a production workshop environment.
- Experience providing service delivery on client sites in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of conveyor belt types, materials, and applications is desirable, but not required.
