BUSY At Work is part of The BUSY Group, a not-for-profit organisation. Presenting over 45 years’ experience in skilling solutions and services to employers and businesses, job seekers and students, through apprenticeship support services, employment, education support programs, and vocational training.
About the Role…
The BUSY Step Up Facilitator works within the context of BUSY at Work’s (BAW) funding agreement with for this project.
BUSY Step Up is a curriculum-based intervention where young people learn and practice nonviolent, respectful ways of communicating and resolving conflict with those they have been abusive towards, while parents learn a model of respectful parenting that balances leadership and positive support, promoting non-violence in the family and the community.
BUSY Step Up works with young people aged 10 to 17 who are using violent behaviours. Behaviours may include physical, verbal, emotional, psychological, sexual, financial, cultural or spiritual abuse. The program is a one-on-one case management, outreach model that works with both the young person and their family or intimate partner.
This role is part time 30.4 hours a week, fixed term until August 2025 with possibility of extension, based in Townsville.

A bit about you...
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the services systems that support young people who are known to the youth justice system
- Experience and ability to quickly build rapport with young people to ensure participation in the program
- Experience in person centred supports for young people to address challenging behaviours
- Experience with working closely with other service providers to deliver holistic support for young people and their families
- Desirable qualifications in a relevant discipline (Social Work, Youth work, Community Services)
- 2+ years’ experience in a similar role within a youth or community services setting
- Ability to obtain a Blue Card and National Police Check
