The Property Services Team is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Facilities Coordinator to join our team of five Facilities Coordinators as we expand our offerings. As part of our team, you'll be involved in property development, master planning, project planning and management, commercial development, facilities management, and life cycle maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operational management of buildings and facilities, ensuring their efficient and proper functioning.
- Create and maintain safe and productive environments for all users.
- Assist and monitor site stakeholders and contractors to ensure seamless operations.
- Contribute to property development projects, life cycle planning, construction, and environmental sustainability.
- Provide advice and leverage contractor relationships to optimize the use of the Diocese property.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The primary responsibilities of the Catholic Diocese of Maitland - Newcastle Property Services Team is property development, site specific master planning, project planning and management, commercial development, facilities management, and maintenance.
This position coordinates the effective operational management of buildings and facilities to ensure the proper and efficient operation of all its physical aspects, creating and sustaining safe and productive user environments. This role also plays a pivotal part in monitoring and assisting the grounds assistants with day-to-day tasks.
The incumbent commits to working within Work Health and Safety guidelines and Code of Conduct at all times whilst in the employ of the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.

EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA
- Strong, detailed knowledge and demonstrated experience in building operations that include cleaning, pest, waste, grounds, security and other related services.
- Demonstrated understanding of general building and facilities services and related trades.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office. (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
- Ability to work to a flexible time schedule when required.
- Proficiency in Computerised Building Management Systems.
- Ability to effectively monitor and assist staff.
- Experience in using MEX Facilities Maintenance software application (Desirable).
- Experience in using an electronic records management system (Desirable).
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma in facilities management, or a relevant discipline and/or equivalent experience.
