About the role
Facilities Maintenance Officer
St Aloysius’ College is seeking to appoint a motivated and suitably experienced Maintenance Officer to join the Facilities Department to assist with a diverse range of maintenance and operational duties at the College.
The successful candidate would demonstrate a willingness to work in a fast-paced environment, whilst undertaking routine general maintenance tasks associated with the College and its facilities. You will provide operational support for events, as well as general upkeep of the College grounds. This role represents a great opportunity for someone with a trade qualification, or extensive experience as a handyperson, seeking to work in the education sector.
This hands-on role is full-time ongoing and will report to the Facilities Manager. The successful candidate will be proactive and deliver timely service with strong problem solving and communication skills. The College is seeking an immediate start, though is willing to negotiate a commencement date with the successful candidate.

About You
To be considered for this position, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate:
- Commitment to the mission of Catholic education of boys in the Jesuit tradition;
- Relevant industry qualification and/or industry experience;
- Demonstrated extensive hands-on experience in general building maintenance - preferably within a school environment;
- Possess a current driver's license (minimum C class) endorsed to drive manual vehicles;
- Prior knowledge of tools and general handyman skills is a must;
- Ability to multitask with minimal supervision;
- Work collaboratively with various stakeholders to fulfill department goals;
- Possess strong problem-solving skills and be responsive;
- Ability to maintain high performance and customer service expectations while staying calm under pressure;
- Possess good communication skills (both oral and written);
- Possess basic skills in computer literacy;
- Demonstrated a commitment to ensuring a safe work environment;
- Strongly committed to child safeguarding principles;
- Possess a valid Working with Children Check.
