About the role
We are looking for a Facility Maintenance Technician to join our team in Kooragang Island, NSW, on a full-time, permanent basis. Orica Kooragang Island's manufacturing complex comprises an ammonia plant, three nitric acid plants, and two ammonium nitrate plants. The site has significant dispatch operations and is capable of providing bagged, containerized, or bulk products for distribution.
The Facility Maintenance Technician is accountable for completing weekly scheduled tasks and is involved with keeping plant essential services operational. Attend to break-in repairs as and when required.
Tasks range from a variety of areas, from yard, road, fence, and building maintenance activities to escorting contractors conducting specialized maintenance and inspections, assisting the Engineering Department by providing support services to conduct inspections, etc.
Essentially, this role would suit an industrial handyman who can use a range of tools. You must be able to work well in a team environment and autonomously when required. #LI-DNI
What you will be doing
As a Facility Maintenance Technician, you will have experience in Facility Maintenance activities. Your main duties will be to:
- Ensure that safety, health, and environmental procedures are adhered to by all team members.
- Support a work environment that encourages individuals to be self-motivated.
- Identify risks to current (and foreseeable) compliance and deliver proposals to ensure compliance.
- Identify areas for improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Knowledge and experience working in industrial plants.
- Permit to Work Experience.
- A high-risk license is desirable.
- Trade skills are desirable but optional.
- Possess an unquestioned reputation for integrity, ethics, personal values, and solid character.
