Position Overview: HALS is seeking a versatile and motivated Factory Hand to join our dynamic team. As a Factory Hand, you will be an all-rounder, contributing to various aspects of our business. You will operate yard machinery such as skid steers and front-end loaders, must hold a valid forklift license, and possess at least a medium rigid truck license. Experience with tipping is preferred, but we are also open to candidates who are eager to learn.
Responsibilities:
- Operate yard machinery including skid steers and front-end loaders for material handling and site maintenance.
- Safely operate a forklift to load, unload, and move products within the warehouse and yard.
- Drive medium rigid trucks for the transportation of both palletised and bulk product
- Perform bulk tipping or demonstrate a willingness to learn and master this skill.
- Assist with general factory and yard duties, including bagging and stacking product, cleaning and organising warehouse space and loading customers with yard machinery.
- Prepare factory for next days production
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and maintain high safety standards.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Leadership qualities desired.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift license.
- Valid medium rigid truck license at a minimum (with tipping experience preferred, or a willingness to learn).
- Experience operating yard machinery such as skid steers and front-end loaders.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
- Versatility and willingness to perform a variety of tasks.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Enthusiasm for horticultural, garden and landscaping products is a plus.
