The headspace Hawthorn & Malvern teams work with young people and their families within our community to access a range of services to support their wellbeing. The opportunity has arisen for a Family Clinician/Therapist to be an important part of the headspace team.
What you will be doing
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct further assessment of young people aged 12-25years and/or their family/carers
  • Deliver brief and medium-term interventions to young people and/or families following evidence-informed practice principles
  • Work within a systemic framework utilising family therapy approaches i.e.; narrative or solution focused
  • Facilitate parent/carer group programs and information sessions (such as TINT – Tuning into Teens)
What you will bring
Key Selection Criteria
  • Tertiary qualifications in social work, psychology, counselling alcohol and other drugs.
  • Relevant qualifications and/or experience in family counselling or family therapy
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of family counselling, single session family therapy and other family interventions
  • Demonstrated experience working in family support, youth mental health, alcohol and other drugs, community or similar health services (minimum two years’ experience)
  • Experience and recognised training in clinical risk assessment and management
