- Salary based on experience, range: VLA3 $84,626 - $97,921 / VLA4 $97,922 - $122,400 (pro rata) plus super

About the role:
We are seeking multiple Family Lawyersand Senior Family Lawyers to join Victoria Legal Aid working across the Gippsland region. In this role you will act as an advocate by providing high quality legal services including duty lawyer services, casework and advice services in family law, family violence intervention orders and child protection matters of varying complexity. You will also participate in community legal education and develop collaborative relationships between VLA and local stakeholders.
In addition to the above responsibilities, our Senior Family Lawyers provide legal supervision, mentoring, training, and contribute to the professional development of less experienced lawyers and assist in the development of strategies to improve access to justice.

- Knowledge and advocacy experience in family law and relevant court procedures, with the technical proficiency to conduct quality case work in complex family law, family violence and child protection matters.
- Stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to positively engage with clients and key internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and your demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively with others and fostering a supportive team environment.
- Ability to supervise legal work and to mentor and train staff and contribute to the development of individuals and their knowledge and skills in family law (Senior Family Lawyer role).
