The Smith Family is a children's education charity that helps young Australians experiencing disadvantage to create better futures for themselves through harnessing the power of education Become part of our family and make a difference to young Australians through supporting their education Due to continued growth, this new part time position has been created to support the provision of The Smith Family's work to more young Tasmanians Temporary Part Time Position Until January 2025 Wynyard, TAS We are seeking a Family Partnerships Coordinator to join our family. Reporting to the Team Leader Learning for Life and working with a dedicated and passionate team, this pivotal role will help manage and deliver one of our most valuable programs - Learning for Life.The role involves planning and implementing The Smith Family Scholarships and taking a strengths based, family led practice approach to support stronger educational outcomes for students. You will maintain key relationships with a range of stakeholders, including families on the program, partner schools, community groups and volunteers. About our roleYou will be responsible for: Liaising with identified schools and Principals as to progress of referrals of students to the Learning for Life program Enhancing relationships with key people in schools to positively impact on attendance and school completion rates Contacting scholarship families to inform of programs being delivered and inviting them to participate Taking a family led practice approach to maximise school attendance and support key transitions Ensuring excellent database management and administration support for scholarship students Sourcing students and families for media opportunities About youAs well as passion for community, you will bring the following: High level interpersonal and communication skills Excellent organisational and administrative skills (including computer literacy, data entry and time management) Proven experience in establishing and maintaining relevant partnerships Proven experience in working with families taking a family partnership approach Have or willing to obtain an employee Working With Children's Check About our cultureThe Smith Family has employees at the centre of its values and operations.
