Brightside Recruitment is currently working with a large Not-For-Profit organisation that works across Victoria, Melbourne, providing support services within the Child and Family sector.
Role
Our client is currently building a team of motivated and knowledgeable Family Services Case Managers. The Case Manager will empower families to share their story through the implementation of trauma informed engagement, information gathering, planning processes and ensure the active involvement of families in decision making at each phase towards self-determination.
In addition, the Case Manager will act as a key point of contact for the related service network. The Case Manager will provide casework, group work and service coordination facilitating access families to programs, services and activities which connect, protect and heal.
You will be part of a newly created team and given the tool and guidance to grow and develop within the organisation.
Criteria
- Demonstrated commitment to self-determination and experience working effectively with Aboriginal people and organisations.
- Demonstrated awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, and commitment to continually build knowledge of such, along with an awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities.
- Work experience in a relevant field that supports an understanding of child development and family functioning including theories of attachment, intergenerational and personal trauma as well as relevant risk assessment frameworks, service responses and interventions in working with vulnerable families.
- The ability to apply a flexible, non-judgmental and empowering approach to service delivery.
- Demonstrated positive working relationships with other agencies in a service network, and experience with shared casework, or group work.
- A current Victorian driver’s license.
- A current Victorian Working with Children’s Check.
- A current Police Check.
- Need passionate, unbiased, client focused person.
- Bachelor in Social Work or other relevant tertiary education
