Salary: $71,000 - $75,000 plus 11% Superannuation

The service provider is looking to fill a full-time position for a qualified and skilled Family Support Worker who is able to provide services and support to families and individuals. You will need to understand that each client has various needs and goals, and a genuine commitment to delivering the highest standard of care.
The best interest of the individual client is central at all times and this role ensures they are referred through to the most appropriate internal or external service. The Family Support Worker role will also have the responsibility for continual assessment in consultation with case workers allocated to the family.
Qualifications and Experience:
•AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in a related discipline
•Possess at least 24 months of experience in a similar role.
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills empower you to build meaningful relationships quickly and collaborate effectively.

In this role your main responsibilities include:
•Conducting intake and assessment and developing a case management plan for families.
•The delivery of support tailored to families with high and complex needs, and to meet their goals, including specific support for children within the family.
•Providing information and advice to families and children to meet their needs, including referrals to other services that can provide assistance in their community.
•Assessing clients' needs and planning, developing and implementing educational, training and support programs.
•Empowering families through education on relevant topics such as child development, effective communication, conflict resolution, and access to community resources.
•Advocating for the rights of children and families by liaising with external agencies, participating in case conferences, and contributing to the development of policies that promote positive outcomes for rural communities.
•Interviewing clients and assessing the nature and extent of difficulties.
•Monitoring and reporting on the progress of clients.
•Assessing community need and resources for health, welfare, housing, employment, training and other facilities and services
•Liaising with community groups, welfare agencies, government bodies and private businesses about community issues and promoting awareness of community resources and services
•Supporting families and providing education and care for children and disabled persons in adult service units, group housing and government institutions
•Assisting young people to solve social, emotional and financial problems
•Preparing submissions for funding and resources, and reports to government bodies and other agencies
To be successful in this role you must:
•Experience working with ‘at risk’ families and children will be considered favorably
•Have passion, reliability, dedication and flexibility
•Passionate, creative and enthusiastic about delivering quality experiences and programs
•Experience supporting parents and children's development concerns
•Have high level written and verbal communication, it's important to document work
•Have excellent relationship building
