Who we are looking for
Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people facing Mental Health challenges? We are seeking a dedicated Family Mental HealthTherapeutic Worker to join our team. In this role, you will be working within a family framework and providing early intervention support to children and young people up to the age of 18 years who are showing early signs of, or are at risk of developing, mental illness.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- A bachelor’s degree (AQF level 7) in Social work, Psychology or related discipline.
- Experience and expertise gained through previous appointments, services and/or other study related to this position.
It would be a bonus if you have:
- Training in evidence-based group programs (e.g. Bringing up Great Kids, Circle of Security).
What you will be doing
- Provide counseling, case work, and group work services.
- Conduct child-centered assessments and risk screenings within a family context.
- Undertake trauma-informed case work with complex and vulnerable families.
- Develop and deliver therapeutic and educational group programs.
- Offer tailored practical assistance to children, young people, and families.
- Establish partnerships and linkages with other services for effective referral pathways.
- Identify and address risk factors or issues that may impact Mental Health outcomes later in life.
- Collaborate with children, young people, and families to strengthen protective factors.
