Flourish Community Solutions is looking for dedicated, skilled family & youth Support Workers & social workers in the Ipswich, Springfield & Toowoomba areas. Working directly with young people and parents/carers to enhance better life outcomes and address barriers within the family unit. Various contracts are available.

Flourish Community Solutions provides intensive Family Support, parent mentoring, and early intervention solutions to young people and families in need. Working alongside families and young people wherever they are in their journey with a focus on keeping families together safely. 

Note this is not a disability Support Worker role

Your Opportunity:

In this role, you will facilitate individualized support to achieve sustainable change in families with complex needs, whilst working alongside the family to prevent a family from entering or re-entering the statutory child protection system. 

You must be personable, caring, and have a genuine passion for helping others. Direct work with families and young people is a must and you will be required to guide, mentor, and facilitate their development, implement support strategies, connect them to services and community, support and guide them in safe behavior or safe parenting, mental health support and drive their intervention journey forward with them at the forefront.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing specialist therapeutic intervention to children and families experiencing child protection issues and direct youth support, working with mental health, DFV, AOD, Neurodiverse, and complex behaviors may be required. 
  • Assistance to access community connections and education in parenting upskilling and psychosocial support is required.
  • Transportation to appointments or contact arrnagements.
  • Engage with families and young people, explore mutual obligations, complete required forms, and develop collaborative goals from a strengths-based, child-centered, family-focused practice framework
  • Provide early intervention-focused services, support families to strengthen the care and protection of children living at home, strengthen parenting practice, and increase the safety and well-being of the family.
  • Develop and drive the case plan working alongside families and stakeholders, providing appropriate links and connections where possible
  • Respect and seek cultural advice to ensure client families have access to a range of culturally safe support options, where appropriate.

Requirements for Success:

Diploma or Tertiary Qualifications in Youth Work, Youth Justice, Community Support, Social Work, Social Welfare, teaching, etc.

Consideration Cert 4 level - plus extensive proven experience in this field.

  • Experience in implementing therapeutic interventions with young people and/or families.
  • Understanding of Child Protection legislation and child protection concerns and risk factors, problem solvers
  • Demonstrated understanding of Early Intervention principles in working with families with multiple and complex needs
  • Knowledge and awareness of community and regional connections to assist clients with their access to community
  • Case management experience
  • Ability to perform casework with a level of autonomy, seeking support from upline when required.
  • Have a creative perspective when working with case management.

As a contractor, you will work under your own ABN and be offered pieces of work. You need your vehicle and laptop/tablet to complete documentation. Many work opportunities are available.
