This program includes a variety of services such as case work, assertive outreach, case management, and coordination. Our interventions cover a wide range of activities including collaboration with other services and professionals, home visits, office-based support, and group work. This can involve immediate responses as well as both short-term and long-term engagements based on individual needs. You'll be working closely with other programs, professionals, and Child Protection services to ensure effective outcomes for service users, particularly for children and families dealing with complex issues.

The key objectives of this role are:
- Assess Needs and Risks: Conduct thorough assessments of children, focusing on their needs and potential risks, following the Best Interest Case Practice Model.
- Family Engagement: Work directly with families to develop detailed family assessments, safety plans, goals, action plans, and interventions to ensure safety and wellbeing, both in the office and within family homes.
- Collaboration: Partner with DFFH Community Based Child Protection Workers and other professionals to support children and families, ensuring effective service user outcomes.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and high-quality service user records, and ensure data is collected accurately as required by the Agency, Department of Families, Fairness and Housing, and external evaluators.
- Team Participation: Actively engage in regular supervision sessions, team meetings, and the supervision of students in the program.
- Fixed term till 27 June 2025

To be successful in the role, you will have:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in social work, psychology and/or related behavioural sciences and eligibility for membership of a professional association.
- Experience working with families within a casework/case management context utilising a variety of intervention skills including experience in engaging vulnerable families through relational strategies of assertive outreach.
- A high level of knowledge and understanding of the principles and practice of case management/case work and an understanding of the issues related to families at risk, child safety and wellbeing concerns with a commitment to the strengths based and solution focus work with families.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with a high level of organisational and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to work independently, use initiative and model resilience and demonstrated capacity for innovation, flexibility and ability to assess and implement successful solutions.
