MARS Recruitment are seeking a dedicated Locum Social Worker to provide clinical and outreach support for victims of Family Violence in regional VIC. You will support individuals in an acute hospital setting as within the East Gippsland and district community.
This is a 3-month locum with options to extend, accommodation will be provided, and the residence is in within walking distance to the site.
Salary is $60-$65 phr + super + accom provisions - depending on experience level.
Travel assistance/ reimbursement to the region can be provided.
The role includes:
- Delivering outreach support to victims of Family Violence.
- Collaborate with service providers to engage perpetrators into support networks and therapy groups.
- Provide generalist counselling and social casework for complex clients.
- Offer acute social work services, discharge planning, and post-acute support.
- Maintain accurate client files and provide statistical data as required.
- Participate in case management processes for complex client issues.
- Be an integral part of our Counselling Unit, engaging in professional peer support processes.
- Provide supervision for staff, guiding and facilitating education and training.
- Support staff through critical incidents response and peer support group processes.
- Offer counselling and welfare support to schools as required.
- Provide support and resources to staff in managing behavioral issues for students.
- Educate the community on good mental health practices, managing Family Violence, and handling critical stressful incidents.
- Develop strategies for communities to collaboratively manage issues for positive outcomes.
- Provide outreach counselling services to isolated communities in the East Gippsland region.
Requirements:
- Bachelor or Masters of Social Work, eligibility for membership of the AASW.
- Ability to handle complex and stressful situations, including those involving trauma.
- Skill in engaging and referring perpetrators of violence to appropriate supports.
- Good knowledge of child development and ability to work with children.
- Ability to provide community education and awareness on Family Violence.
- Capability to facilitate regional program planning and development.
