Farm Mechanic / Leading Hand

We are looking for an independent, enthusiastic, motivated, experienced heavy duty diesel mechanic or mechanically minded applicant to help maintain, service and repair a wide range of agricultural and earthmoving machinery on our family farm located in the centre of Western Australia.

We have a modern recently built 860m2 workshop on farm with a modern office, mezzanine floor, lathe, 4 Post hoist, hydraulic crimping gear, tyre changing equipment, welders, plasma cutters plus more.

Some of the machinery includes-

John Deere Harvesters (s790 & 9870STS)

Versatile delta track 620DT

2*Fendt 936

Miller Nitro SP Sprayer

Toyota hilux and landcruisers plus other on road vehicles

72ft  Bourgault seeding equipment

Several Road Trains/Equipment

Other small engines/augers and applications

Volvo 30t excavator and 20t FEL

The employee (you) will also be involved in the day to day running of the farm- which includes everything from machine operation on the cropping side of the business to all aspects of sheep husbandry if you wish too. (Approx 3500 Ewes mated/year)

You will be a senior member of our staff and once familiar, will be asked to help others instruct casual workers on the day to day jobs and running of the farm.

A modern 3 bedroom house with reticulated gardens, polished floor boards,  and reverse cycle air conditioning is supplied. The house also has a garage/small workshop attached.

We are only 15km from Newdegate and have schooling up to year 6 for children if needed.

Newdegate is a very small and very friendly community with great people and organisations we would encourage applicants to be involved with.
