Our feeding and milling team based on site at Grassdale Feedlot ensure all mixed rations developed on site are nutritionally balanced to ensure optimal dietary requirements are met and are dispersed throughout our feedlot in a timely manner. This step in the vertical integrated supply chain ensures that all cattle on feed with us at our operational sites are well fed to optimal dietary levels to ensure best quality yields are met during their time on Mort & Co soil.
This key operational role will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Developing all mixed rations on site and ensure all rations are nutritionally balanced to ensure optimal dietary requirements are met.
- Ensuring our feed rations are dispersed throughout our feedlot in a timely manner to ensure steady average daily weight gain is achieved.
- Daily operations and logistics are executed in a timely and efficient manner to meet daily production and quality targets
- Feed batching, milling operations, vehicle and loader operations in a feedlot / feed mill setting.
The ideal candidate for the position will have the following skills / experience:
- Focused on working safely in an environment that drives continuous improvement and excellence.
- Experience in feed production, milling position or feed batching (or possess similar previous experience would be highly regarded but not essential)
- Mechanically minded and the ability to problem solve on the fly.
- Experience with modern feeding machinery, equipment, loaders, trucks and other heavy equipment (Current tickets and licenses to would be highly regard otherwise we will teach you through our verification of competency training program on site).
- Ability to thrive in a faced paced, hands-on environment.
